Recently I just updated my development tools, the lovely Visual Studio 2017 version 15.4 from Preview 1 to Preview 2. And I wanted to create demo sample using Windows 10 UWP app project.
Visual Studio 2017 version 15.4 Preview 2
Everything works normally, until I wanted to create a new UWP app project. And here is what happen when I create a new UWP app using blank project template.
and of course, I choose the latest version which is the Windows Insider Preview SDK Build 16278.
And here is what I encounter… yikes…!
Package Restored Failed
Looking at the error message, it seems some of the package were not properly loaded when restoring the package. So I looked at the References.
Doing some small investigation and as I expected, where is that package named Microsoft.NETCore.UniversalWindowsPlatform. I have no idea why it isn’t installed. Well… I will just look for someone who can explain why the package is not properly loaded when restored.
However, my suspicion is because I updated my Visual Studio 2017 version 15.4 from Preview 1 to Preview 2 and I also added the Xamarin related cross-platform mobile development components from the Visual Studio Installer.
Hence, all I have to do just add the package, right!
And so I did. Awesome!
Once done, you can just Debug Run (F5) as usual. And et voilà!
Enjoy and happy coding!
